The US Foreign Service's actions towards empowering women across the globe. This is a periclean series event that counts for COR203 credit. The Periclean Series addresses the central issues of citizen participation in democracy. Presenters will discuss how to be involved in and influence government; as well as the major issues affecting women’s civic status and public leadership. Additionally, some programs offer current perspectives on research or public affairs, applied skill workshops, or the opportunity to participate in community events. These seminars are a part of our Project Pericles initiative to facilitate civic engagement, social responsibility, and spirited dialogue on the meaning of citizenship, democracy, and public participation. They are designed as a complement to the general education courses COR 203 Citizenship and Civic Engagement, but welcome the participation of all campus community members. Chatham students attending as part of the COR 203 courses may receive credit in their courses by signing in at the event and fulfilling the follow-up assignments as defined by their professors.
